Stillwater vs. Roseville
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 14

This matchup features two top-10 Class 2A teams and will determine which team will stand atop the Suburban East Conference standings.

Stillwater went undefeated on its way to last year's Class 2A state title, but that will not be the case this year. Stillwater’s 25-game winning streak was snapped Friday when it drew against Marquette University, a college prep school in Wisconsin. The Ponies (4-0-1, 1-0-0) still haven’t lost a game since their 2015 section semifinals loss to East Ridge. Spencer Scott has been a big reason for Stillwater’s success this season, as he leads the team in goals with five. His two assists also tie for a team lead.

Roseville has had a tough schedule early this season, and it has dealt with the adversity well. The Raiders (3-1-1, 1-0-0) won their conference opener 2-0 over Mounds View on Sept. 9. Jonas Kazlauskas will be a key against Stillwater. He leads Roseville with five goals this season, two of which came in the last two games.
