Wayzata vs. Edina
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5

This top-five matchup comes from Class 2A, where No. 2 Wayzata and No. 3 Edina have both started the year strong after reaching the state tournament last season. The Lake Conference foes have combined to go 8-0-1 to start this season, and they will open conference play on Tuesday.

The Hornets opened their season with a 1-1 draw against Minneapolis Washburn on Aug. 24. Since the draw, they've won all four games, including against No. 2-1A Breck (2-1 on Aug. 26) and No. 6-2A Prior Lake (1-0 on Aug. 29). Their schedule doesn’t get any easier, as they face No. 2-2A Wayzata and No. 5-2A Minnetonka this week to start Lake Conference play.

The Trojans have had a perfect start to the season, winning all four of their games without giving up a single goal. In those four games, the Trojans outscored their opponents 22-0. Wayzata (4-0) has distributed the wealth on the attack so far, with nine different players registering goals. Patrick Weah leads the team with four, and scored twice in his team's 3-0 victory over Prior Lake last Saturday.
