New Life Academy vs. Trinity School at River Ridge
2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8
If these Minnesota Christian Athletic Association leaders win their penultimate league games, Saturday’s matchup will decide whether New Life Academy claims the title outright or if Trinity snares a share.
Earning even a piece of the conference championship will be monumental for either team, as neither has won the league this decade.
New Life Academy (8-3-2, 6-0) had a seven-game winning streak snapped by a 1-0 loss to Richfield on Saturday and will need to bounce back against Legacy Christian on Tuesday to remain unbeaten going into the regular-season finale.
The Tri Hawks (8-6-1, 5-1-0) have only lost twice at home this year, but the Eagles are no stranger to winning on the road, going 3-1 on the season.
New Life Academy won last year's meeting 3-2 behind the play of Jack Flavin, who had two assists. Thomas Rumpza netted a goal for Trinity.
