Minnetonka vs. Wayzata
1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8

Undefeated Wayzata not only has a chance to wrap up the Lake Conference championship this week but it closes out the regular season hosting rival Minnetonka.

If the No. 2-2A Trojans beat Eden Prairie (a team they tied 1-1 on Sept. 15) on Tuesday, they’ll clinch the title outright.

However, a loss the Eagles means the No. 7-2A Skippers will have an opportunity to repeat as league champions with a win on Saturday.

Even if the chance is there, stealing the conference title will be an uphill battle for Minnetonka. Wayzata (11-0-3, 5-0-1) has shut out the competition in its past three games and also beat the Skippers 2-1 on the road on Sept. 20.

Trojans freshman Patrick Weah scored once in the victory and has been dialed in on the net lately, scoring five goals in the past three games.

Minnetonka (11-3-1, 5-2) has played its opponents tight this fall, with all three of its losses coming by a single goal.

Avery Weaver netted the Skippers' lone goal against the Trojans in the earlier matchup and leads the team with 15 goals on the year.
