Lakeville North vs. Burnsville
7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6

An unbeaten Lakeville North team meets Burnsville in a final, possibly title-clinching, South Suburban Conference game of the season.

Lakeville North is knotted atop the league standings with Prior Lake after a 1-0 win over Farmington last Saturday.

After tying the Lakers earlier this season, the No. 8-2A Panthers (11-0-3, 6-0-1) are entering an important week that will determine whether they can secure the program’s first conference championship since 2008.

Burnsville currently trails the South Suburban leaders by two games, but the Blaze (7-4-1, 4-2-1) could play spoiler -- twice, with a game against Prior Lake on Tuesday before facing Lakeville North two days later.

Mohammad Essawy found the net in the Panthers' 3-0 win over the Blaze last year and is the team's top scorer with 12 goals on the season.

Olaf Morkeberg leads Lakeville North with 32 points (10 goals, 12 assists).
