Prairie Seeds at Eden Prairie
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29

Prairie Seeds, one of the state’s top soccer academies, faces its toughest test of the season with a road match against an Eden Prairie team chiseled by Lake Conference competition.

The Lycans are unbeaten through eight games, including a 2-1 win over No. 4-1A St. Thomas Academy on Sept. 1.

Six of those victories were shutouts, but Prairie Seeds likely hasn't seen the type of offensive attack that the No. 11-2A Eagles possess -- one which has averaged 2.8 goals per game this year.

Eden Prairie tied No. 2-2A Wayzata 1-1 on Sept. 15, continuing a trend of close finishes against league opponents. Unfortunately, the Eagles haven't been on the winning side, losing by one goal to No. 5-2A Minnetonka, No. 14-2A Hopkins and No. 4-2A Edina. They also lost to the Hornets 2-0 this season.

Sean Kurtenbach leads Eden Prairie (4-4-2, 0-4-1) with seven goals this fall.
