Hopkins vs. Minnetonka
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22

Minnetonka has found a groove with four straight wins after starting the season 1-2-2. The Skippers (5-2-2, 2-1) have risen to second place in the Lake Conference standings after knocking off Eden Prairie 2-1 and Edina 1-0 in the last two weeks.

Minnetonka has been getting goals from the midfield in recent games, as Izabel Matchan scored twice in the victory over Eden Prairie and Kaitlin Campbell scored the game-winner in a 3-2 overtime win over Owatonna.

Hopkins (5-2, 1-1) will try for the regular-season sweep after defeating Minnetonka 2-1 on Sept. 6 when Ashley Akin scored with 40 seconds left in overtime.

The Royals can vault from third to second place in the Lake standings with wins over Eden Prairie and Minnetonka this week.
