Rosemount vs. Farmington
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20

Rosemount jumped all the way to a tie for No. 4 in the Class 2A rankings following impressive victories over No. 4-2A East Ridge (1-0) and No. 9-2A Eagan (2-1) two weeks ago.

The Irish (6-1, 1-1) took their first loss of the season Sept. 13, falling to No. 16-2A Lakeville North 1-0, but only dropped in a tie with East Ridge for the fourth spot in this week's rankings.

Jadyn Scholler leads Rosemount with five goals and three assists. Lauren Bangh, Jasmine Finley and Megan Dahl have all pitched in to keep the offense rolling with three goals apiece.

The Tigers will make a case for cracking the top-10 rankings if they can knock off the Irish, and they may have the back line to stymie Rosemount's offense.

Farmington (4-1-1, 1-0-1) hasn’t gotten into the heart of its schedule yet, but the Tigers defense has preformed well in big games, defeating Burnsville 2-0 and tying Prior Lake 0-0. Farmington held a 1-0 lead against No. 4-1A Blake before falling 2-1 on Sept. 6.

The Tigers also possess a potent scorer.

Shannon McKnight leads the team with seven goals and two assists. All of those goals came in a four-game stretch, including a hat-trick in Farmington's 4-2 victory over Northfield.
