Cretin-Derham Hall vs. Wayzata
11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 24

Wayzata has risen to the No. 1 ranking in the Class 2A by starting the season with a 7-0-1 record that includes a win over No. 7-2A Edina and quality victories against Hopkins and Eden Prairie.

However, the Trojans (7-0-1, 3-0) managed just a 0-0 draw against Rochester Century last Saturday and faces a Cretin-Derham Hall team that has already come close to upsetting some of the state's top teams.

The Raiders (4-3-1, 1-1) dropped games to Hopkins (2-1), No. 2-2A Minneapolis Washburn (3-2) and No. 6-2A Stillwater (1-0) before finally defeating a ranked opponent with a 1-0 win over No. 8-1A Mahtomedi on Saturday. Cretin-Derham Hall hopes to continue the trend this week with a game at No. 3-2A Mounds View on Thursday and the tussle with the Trojans on Saturday.

Frannie Hottinger has shown a knack for scoring big goals for the Raiders, netting the game-winner over the Zephyrs and a goal in a 4-3 overtime win over White Bear Lake.
