St. Michael-Albertville vs. Maple Grove
1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24

This matchup features two of the metro’s best players in St. Michael-Albertville’s Makenzie Langdok, a prolific goal scorer and Minnesota commit, and Maple Grove’s Meredith Haakenson, who is committed to play at Michigan.

The meeting of two future Big 10 rivals gives this contest an added degree of intrigue. Langdok tallied 20 goals and 10 assists last season and is already off to another torrid start with seven goals and four assists for the Knights (5-1-1, 2-0).

Haakenson has five goals and an assist this season, a year after scoring 10 goals and registering 15 assists for the Crimson.

Maple Grove (6-2-1, 5-1-1) had a seven-game unbeaten streak snapped last Saturday in a 3-1 loss to No. 3-1A Totino-Grace.

The Crimson will try to avenge last season's 5-3 loss to St. Michael-Albertville, in which Langdok scored twice and had an assist. The Knights, however, scored four times in the second half to pull off the victory.
