Breck at Blake
4:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22

Independent Metro Athletic Conference rivals Breck and Blake meet in a defensive clash that will not only determine the league title but also have a significant impact on Class 1A, Section 5 seeding.

The Mustangs dropped their first conference game of the season in a 4-3 loss to No. 7-1A St. Paul Academy on Sept. 13. Despite the four-goal blemish, No. 4-1A Breck (5-2-1, 2-1-0) is a team that boasts an impressive defense, posting six shutouts this season.

Blake's defense has been equally staunch, shutting out five opponents en route to the top spot in the league standings. The No. 3-1A Bears (6-1, 3-0) have been rolling conference opponents, outscoring them 11-1 in the first three games.

Breck won last year’s meeting 1-0 with current senior captain Avi Eller netting the game’s only goal.
