Academy of Holy Angels vs. Visitation
5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13

A big week for Holy Angels kicks off with a tilt against Tri-Metro Conference rival Visitation.

The Stars went undefeated in league play last year and wrapped up the conference crown with a 2-1 win over the Blazers, who finished second in the title race.

The teams met again in the Class 1A, Section 3 title game, where Holy Angels came out on top 3-0.

This season, the No. 5-1A Stars (3-1, 0-0) have been unable to muster more than three goals in a game, which gives Visitation's high-flying offense the opportunity to avenge last year's losses.

The No. 6-1A Blazers (6-1, 1-0) have scored 34 goals already this season. Senior Maggie Conners has tallied 15 goals while also assisting on six others.

Conners is paired in the attack with all-state second team selection Martha Koenig (8 goals, 6 assists), making Visitation tough to slow. In fact, no team has kept the Blazers off the scoreboard this season.

Visitation also boasts all-state second team goalkeeper Samantha Burke, who is 7-0 with a .937 save percentage this season.
