Hopkins vs. Edina
5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15

Edina’s season-opening five-game unbeaten streak was snapped by a 2-0 loss to Wayzata last Thursday, and the No. 5-2A Hornets will try to bounce back against a dangerous Hopkins team.

Edina (5-1-1, 0-1-1) had gone scoreless in two straight games, including a 0-0 tie at Eden Prairie, prior to a 2-1 win over White Bear Lake on Sept. 10. To jumpstart the offense, the Hornets will try to get leading scorer Sarah Doran, who had three goals and an assist through the first four games, going again.

The Royals will counter Doran's offensive threat with a defense that has given up multiple goals only once this season, a 3-1 loss to Benilde-St. Margaret's on Sept. 8.

Neither team will be happy giving up points in this Lake Conference matchup, especially with a mid-season run against ranked opponents looming for both after Thursday.
