St. Paul Academy vs. Breck
9:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 17

After a 4-2 season-opening loss to South St. Paul, St. Paul Academy has gone on a roll. The Spartans haven’t lost in six games and own a 2-1 win over No. 6-1A Visitation.

Kathryn Bond has shown she can find the net, scoring four times in three consecutive games earlier this season, and leads No. 7-1A St. Paul Academy (5-1-1, 1-0) with 15 goals.

Breck (3-3-1, 1-0) has not had the same kind of offensive output and is still looking for a win against a top 10-ranked opponent after being shutout in three matchups against Class 1A's best -- 1-0 to No. 5-1A Holy Angels; 4-0 to No. 10-1A Princeton; and 5-0 to No. 2-1A Benilde-St. Margaret’s.

Breck routed Providence Academy 8-2 and defeated Mound Westonka 2-1 in back-to-back games last week and looks to have some traction after a 1-3-1 start.

All-state second team selection Grace Taylor leads the Mustangs and will look to unlock a Spartans defense that has allowed only two goals since giving up four in the season opener.
