Maple Grove vs. Totino-Grace
1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17
Maple Grove has navigated its way to an unbeaten 3-0-1 record in the Northwest Suburban Conference. Totino-Grace is currently 2-2 in the league and a win this Saturday will put the Eagles back in contention for the conference title.
Totino-Grace handed Maple Grove a 2-0 loss in last year’s meeting and will look to its offense for a repeat performance this season.
The No. 3-1A Eagles (3-2, 2-2) have lost their past two games, falling to Robbinsdale Armstrong and Centennial by identical 2-1 scores.
Despite a downturn after a 3-0 start, scoring goals doesn’t appear to be a problem for Totino-Grace. Megan Zurbay and Danielle Brown lead the Eagles with four goals each while Arianna Del Moral has three and Lexi Serreyn has two.
The Crimson haven’t lost since a 3-1 defeat to Mounds View in the season opener.
Meredith Haakenson and Mannon McManon lead Maple Grove (4-1-1, 3-0-1) with three goals apiece.
