Blake vs. Visitation
1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17

Blake finds itself ranked No. 4 in Class 1A and can solidify its position as one of the state's top small-school teams with a win against No. 6-1A Visitation on Saturday.

The Bears (4-1-1, 1-0) have found no joy against ranked opponents this season, falling to No. 2-1A Benilde-St. Margaret’s 1-0 and finishing in a 0-0 draw with No. 7-1A St. Paul Academy, but they have a player who can turn that frown upside down.

Ali Fine opened the season with hat tricks in back-to-back games and leads Blake with eight goals and three assists.

Visitation preformed well the last time it faced an offensive threat the caliber of Fine, holding all-state first team selection Sunniva Dunagan (22 goals last year) scoreless in a 2-1 win over St. Paul Central last Saturday.

The Blazers offense also touts a top goal-scorer in Maggie Conners, who scored twice against the Minutemen.

Blake won last year’s meeting with Visitation 1-0.
