Hopkins vs. Wayzata
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13

Ashley Akin scored with 40 seconds left in overtime, propelling Hopkins to a 2-1 win over Minnetonka last Tuesday and extending the Royals' season-opening winning streak to four. They couldn't extend it to five, however, after falling to No. 2-1A Benilde-St. Margaret’s 3-1 in their next game.

Hopkins (5-1, 1-0) gets another crack at a highly ranked opponent -- one that also happens to share the top spot in the Lake Conference standings with the Royals -- when it meets high-flying Wayzata on Tuesday.

The No. 2-2A Trojans (5-0, 1-0) have 22 goals through four games and enter this matchup on the heels of a 2-0 victory over No. 5-2A Edina.

Morgan Turner had both goals in the win over the Hornets and is a main cog the dynamic Wayzata offense. Marissa Kalkar has been complimentary in the attack, scoring three goals in a 7-0 win over Duluth East on Sept. 3.
