Minneapolis Washburn vs. Academy of Holy Angels
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17

Minneapolis Washburn handed Holy Angels one of its two regular-season losses last year when the Millers' Charlotte DeVaughn scored the difference-maker in a 1-0 victory.

DeVaughn returns this season after earning an all-state second team selection last season, and the Minnesota recruit partners with sophomore Marli Rajacich to make Washburn's offense intriguing to watch.

Rajacich’s older sister Maya, who had 22 goals and 14 assists as a senior, is now with the Gophers, but that hasn’t slowed the No. 6-2A Millers (5-0-1, 2-0), who recorded a 2-2 draw with No. 10-2A Lakeville North in the season opener.

The game against the No. 7-1A Stars kicks off a stretch against top-ranked teams for Washburn, which faces No. 5-2A Eagan following its matchup with Holy Angels and has No. 4-1A Blake and No. 5-2A Edina on the schedule.

The Stars (3-1) will find out where they stand this week with a game against No. 6-1A Visitation on Tuesday before meeting the Millers. Holy Angels’ only loss this season came against No. 2-1A Totino-Grace in a 2-1 game.
