Mayer Lutheran at Watertown-Mayer
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1

After starting the season with a five-set victory over New Prague, Mayer Lutheran looks to continue its early season success against area rival Watertown-Mayer.

The No. 6-1A Crusaders (1-0) have consistent height along the net and return three players who were named all-Minnesota River Conferene last season in juniors Madi Beck and Madison Hucky and senior Rachel Roepke, a middle hitter who also collected all-state honors.

Watertown-Mayer (1-3) stumbled out of the starting gates but could get a big confidence boost with a win over Mayer Lutheran.

Senior middle hitter Madissen Burns (189 kills) and junior libero Ellie Ernhart (327 digs) were All-Wright County Conference selections a year ago and will be key for the Royals in this matchup.
