Southwest Christian at Rosemount

Southwest Christian returns two important cogs from last season’s 16-15 campaign, one reason the Stars are No. 11 in the Class 2A coaches’ preseason poll.

Senior libero Gabby Fortman (348 digs) is back after earning all-Minnesota Christian Athletic Association honors last year and is joined in the lineup by senior outside hitter Hana VanderGalien (205 kills, 228 digs), who was a second-team all-MCAA pick. Fortman and VanderGalien are two of nine previous letterwinners on the roster.

Rosemount lost a large group of players from last season's team that went 24-6 and lost to state champion Eagan in the Class 3A, Section 3 final, but the Irish have the tools to make another deep postseason run this year.

Ashley Hahnfeldt, a 6-foot senior middle hitter (116 kills, 64 blocks), helps power a roster that also includes two all-South Suburban Conference honorable mention picks in senior libero Katie Lienemann (431 digs) and junior setter Madeline Mackinac (426 assists).
