Moorhead at North St. Paul
5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27

Moorhead is coming off a Class 3A state tournament appearance and a 27-win season, but to keep the momentum going, the Spuds must replace several graduated players.

Right-side hitter Brooke Tonsfeldt (212 kills) and setter Kortney Carney (294 digs, 498 assists) are juniors who could step into major roles this season.

North St. Paul brings back all-Metro East Conference selection Sophie Cave (247 kills, 275 digs). The junior outside hitter bolsters an experienced lineup that includes setter Megan Rubbelke (193 digs, 740 assists) and right-side hitter Rachel Tschida (215 kills), two seniors who helped the Polars finish last season with 20 victories.

Junior libero Charisma Herr (355 digs), who was an all-Metro East honorable mention selection last year, holds down the defensive end for North St. Paul.
