Edina at Breck
 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27

Edina meets Breck in this season's second game — a rematch of last year’s season opener won by the Hornets 4-1.

The Mustangs face a tall task in attempting to turn around the outcome. After losing five seniors to graduation, No. 4-2A Edina boasts a roster with 13 seniors and an abundance of juniors who played varsity minutes last fall when the Hornets allowed only 11 goals in 18 games.

Edina ended last year with a 14-3-1 record after ending its season with a loss to Bloomington Jefferson in the Class 2A, Section 2 semifinals. The Hornets, however, look to be the favorite in the Lake Conference this season with a majority of their starting lineup retuning, including all-state first team honoree Roody Joinvil.

Breck’s defense played well a season ago in what was considered a “rebuilding year,” and with sophomore Hudson Haecker back in goal, the Mustangs could show the Hornets more resistance this year.
