Sartell-St. Stephen at Alexandria
7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5

Alexandria sits in second place in the Central Lakes Conference standings behind Brainerd and needs to win out and get some help to gain a share of the league title.

First, the Cardinals must defeat Sartell-St. Stephen, which is in third place. Then they need the Warriors to lose to either St. Cloud Apollo, St. Cloud Tech or Sartell-St. Stephen in their final three regular-season games. The Sabres could do Alexandria a favor by winning its matchup with Brainerd on Oct. 12.

The Cardinals (8-4, 7-1) already have a 2-1 win over Sartell-St. Stephen on Sept. 15 that came in the midst of a five-game winning streak. Alexandria is 2-2 in its last four games with a 1-0 overtime loss to Moorhead on Sept. 21 and a 2-1 defeat to St. Cloud Cathedral on Sept. 29.

Megan Sieben leads Sartell-St. Stephen (8-3-2, 8-2) with 10 goals and Bria Ferns has six for the defending Section 8 champions.

The Sabres are coming off 5-0 victories over St. Cloud Tech and Sauk Rapids-Rice.
