Wayzata at Minnetonka
5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8

Wayzata gets one more crack at Minnetonka in the regular-season finale. The No. 2-2A Skippers got past the No. 6-2A Trojans 3-1 on Sept. 19, but Minnetonka’s not as unstoppable as previously imagined.

The Skippers (12-3, 5-2) dropped a 1-0 overtime game to previously ranked Roseville and a 2-1 game against No. 3-2A Edina.

Eden Prairie also defeated Minnetonka 2-1 on Sept. 10, handing the Skippers their first loss of the season. But the rematch on Sept. 29 wasn't as close.

Coming off the loss to the Raiders, Minnetonka routed the Eagles 6-1 as Suad Suljic had three goals and Josh Greiner added two. Finn Histon also scored in the win.

Suljic leads the Skippers with 16 goals and 13 assists, but Greiner has put together an outstanding season with 12 goals and four assists.

Wayzata (8-2-4, 4-1-1) knocked off No. 3-2A Edina 3-1 on Sept. 29 and will try to build some momentum toward the postseason with games against Eden Prairie and Minnetonka this week.
