Eden Prairie at Mounds View
1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3

Eden Prairie’s solid defense has remained intact, and now its scoring has started to pick up.

The No. 4-2A Eagles (8-2-1, 3-1-1) have gone on a four-game winning streak after dropping back-to-back matches to No. 8-2A Chanhassen and No. 5-2A Wayzata. Eden Prairie has outscored opponents 8-1 in that span, including a 3-0 win over Prior Lake on Sept. 26.

Kara Bean, Naomi Rogge and Kelly Kruse each scored against the Lakers. Brianna Lupo has recorded a goal or an assist in the Eagles' last four games and leads the team with six goals.

Mounds View (10-0-1, 4-0) has scored goals at a nightmarish pace — 55 through 11 games — and have given up just six this season.

Rachel Boyer has 15 goals and five assists and Mariah Northrop has 12 goals to go with 15 assists for the No. 3-2A Mustangs.

Mounds View tied No. 7-2A Burnsville 1-1 on Sept. 1, but Eden Prairie has one of the state's toughest defenses. The Eagles lost to No. 5-2A Wayzata 1-0 in a similar matchup.
