Eastview holds the distinction of being the only team to tie Eagan last year in the Wildcats’ unbeaten run to the Class 2A state title. The Lightning are also the last team to beat Eagan, posting a 5-1 victory in the 2013 Section 3 semifinals.

No. 9-2A Eastview (7-2-1, 3-1-1) has gone 4-0-1 in their last five games, while the Lightning's two losses on the year came against No. 6-2A Minnetonka (1-0) and No. 7-2A Burnsville (2-1).

The Lightning have given up just six goals this season.

Eagan's Taylor Kenealy, a Minnesota State University commit, has 10 goals on the season and proved a difference maker in the big games. The senior forward had the lone goal to lift the No. 1-2A Wildcats (9-0-1, 4-0-1) over the Blaze 1-0 on Sept. 24 and scored twice in a 2-1 win over No. 2-2A Lakeville North. She also had both goals in a 2-1 win over Park of Cottage Grove.

Jade King, a Texas Tech commit, leads the team with 12 goals and nine assists. The senior forward had five goals and two assists in a 7-0 win over Lakeville South on Sept. 17, two days after the Wildcats tied Prior Lake 0-0.
