Maggie Conners leads the attack for Visitation with 10 goals and two assists. She’s backed up by Cecilia Kulhanek, who has four goals, and Martha Koenig (3G, 7A) in leading the Blazers to an 8-1 overall record.

Visitation has defeated No. 5-1A DeLaSalle 3-1, No. 10-2A Minneapolis Washburn 1-0 and South St. Paul 3-1. 

The Blazers lost their first game of the season on Sept. 26, falling to a talented St. Paul Central team 1-0 as Hannah Smith scored the game-winner in the first half.

The loss ended a string of games in which Visitation has scored three or more goals and is the only time this season the Blazers have been shut out.

Holy Angels, the defending Tri-Metro Conference champions, has a bevy of scoring options led by Gabi Reynolds, who has eight goals and seven assists. Emma O’Brien has six goals and four assists while Mara Flaherty has five goals and seven assists. Helena Schmitt has five goals while three others have three.

The Stars (8-1-2, 4-0) lost to No. 8-1A Blake 2-0 on Sept. 21 but has tied East Ridge 1-1 and No. 7-1A Totino-Grace 1-1.

Visitation trails Holy Angels by a game in the Tri-Metro Conference standings and hasn’t beaten the Stars since 2010, when the teams met in the Class 1A, Section 3 quarterfinals.The Blazers won 1-0 in overtime.
