Edina at Minnetonka
5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1

Minnetonka appeared virtually unstoppable through the season's first six games, outscoring opponents 29-6 while going 6-0 and holding the No. 1 ranking in Class 2A.

Eden Prairie (4-6-1, 1-3-1) derailed the Skippers’ shot at an undefeated season by scoring two second-half goals in a 2-1 victory on Sept. 10.

Minnetonka got back to work Sept. 12 with a 2-1 win over previously undefeated Edina with All-American Suad Suljic scoring both goals.

Roseville, however, stunned the Skippers with a 1-0 overtime victory on Sept. 26.

A rematch with the Hornets looms, and Edina is playing some of its finest soccer with five consecutive shutouts since its loss to Minnetonka. The No. 3-2A Hornets can pull ahead of the Skippers in the Lake Conference standings with a win.

Suljic leads No. 2 Minnetonka (10-2, 4-1) with 13 goals and 12 assists. Josh Greiner has nine goals and four assists and Avery Weaver has eight goals and seven assists.
