Maple Grove at Park Center
1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3

The Crimson and Pirates met in last year's Class 2A, Section 5 semifinals, where Maple Grove advanced with a 1-0 victory. The Crimson moved to Section 8 this season.

Sean McNattin led the Park Center girls' team for 11 years before taking over the boys' program in 2012. McNattin moved to a more direct style this season and it has paid off for the Pirates, who have scored 30 goals in 11 games and earned the No. 4 ranking in the Class 2A coaches' poll.

Park Center started to gain attention after a 4-1 win over Mounds View. The Pirates (8-2-1, 6-1-1) had a seven-game winning streak snapped in a 2-1 loss to Elk River on Sept. 21.

Sam Moses leads Park Center with 11 goals and nine assists. Alex Zolnosky has five goals while three others have three goals for the Pirates.

Park Center's defense has adjusted well with Brenton Brekke and Craig Kaizer leading the back line after the Pirates graduated All-American defender Eddie Saydee, who played at San Jose State.

Ryan DeBois leads the No. 9-2A Crimson (6-2-1, 6-1-1) with 11 goals, but has gone without a score in the last three games. He tallied all his goals during a five-game span, including five in a 5-0 win over Elk River.
