Edina at Benilde-St. Margaret's
5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15

Edina has played well against several of the state’s top teams, however, it hasn’t always gotten the results it wanted in those games.

The Hornets (2-3-2) lost to No. 3-2A Burnsville 1-0, but picked up a 2-0 win over a then-No. 9-2A-ranked Prior Lake team. Edina also tied No. 6-2A Eden Prairie and fell to No. 5-2A Wayzata 3-2.

Sarah Doran and Elizabeth Muench lead the Hornets with three goals apiece while Dani Krieter and Meredith Stotts each have two.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s is rolling after four consecutive victories that include wins over No. 8-1A Blake and No. 2-1A Orono. The No. 1-1A Red Knights (5-0-1) also have four shutouts and given up just two goals this season.

Sophie Roux, Aleksa Tataryn, Amanda Cassidy, Ingrid Lundberg and Madison Stoks each have two goals to lead the Red Knights in scoring

Claire Grazzini and Meghan Staples have split time in goal for Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Grazzini played in four games while Staples has seen action in two, with each allowing just one goal.
