Hermantown at Cloquet/Carlton

The top two teams in the Lake Superior Conference standings matchup up when Hermantown meets Cloquet/Carlton. 

The Hawks (2-1) recorded a 4-1 win over Duluth Marshall and a 3-1 win over Proctor following a 3-2 loss to Rosemount in the season opener.

The Lumberjacks are off to an impressive 3-1 start with a 4-0 win over Chisago Lakes, a Class 1A, Section 7 semifinalist last season, and victories over fellow section foes Duluth Marshall and North BranchCloquet/Carlton, which didn’t advance out of the section quarterfinals last year, also tied Esko 1-1.

Mikayla Baker and Anna Fossen lead the Lumberjacks' attack. Baker has a team-high six goals and four assists while Fossen has five goals.

Hermantown won both meetings last season (4-0 and 6-1). The Hawks reached the Class 1A, Section 7 championship last year and could meet Cloquet/Carlton in the playoffs this year.
