Maple Grove at Robbinsdale Armstrong
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1

Maple Grove and first team all-state selection Meredith Haakenson hit the pitch for an early Northwest Suburban Conference showdown with Robbinsdale Armstrong.

Haakenson returns for her sophomore season, along with second team all-state selection Breanna Johnson, to lead a Crimson squad that went 14-3-1 and finished second to Centennial in the conference standings last year.

First team all-state selection Mariah Haberle is back to lead the Falcons as they look to carry over momentum from a 12-2-4 season.

Robbinsdale Armstrong won last year’s meeting with Maple Grove 1-0 and played Class 2A, Section 5 champion Centennial to a 0-0 draw in its following game.

The Falcons are 0-2 after losing their season opener to St. Louis Park 2-1 and falling to No. 10-2A Minnetonka 1-0 on Aug. 29. Haley Neumann netted the only goal for Robbinsdale Armstrong.
