Prior Lake's strong showing last year has them ranked No. 8-2A in the preseason poll. The Lakers finished with a 13-5-1 record and reached the Section 2 title game, where they lost to Eden Prairie 1-0.

Prior Lake earned a 2-0 home victory over Cretin-Derham Hall last season.

The Raiders posted a 14-6 record and earned a trip to the Class 2A state tournament following a 2-1 victory over then-No. 7-ranked Mahtomedi in the Section 4 championship. Cretin-Derham Hall fell to Centennial 2-1 (3-2 on penalty kicks) in the state quarterfinals.

Nine players should return from last year’s Raiders squad.
