Breck at Edina
7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29

Edina expects to return 15 players from last season's 7-5-6 squad and enters the season ranked No. 8 in the Class 2A preseason poll.

The Hornets ended last season with a 3-1 loss to Minnetonka in the Class 2A, Section 2 semifinals, but gave the Skippers, who won section title, two tight games in the regular season. Edina lost the first meeting 2-1 in overtime and played to a 2-2 tie in the second.

Breck tied the Hornets 1-1 in the only meeting between the teams last season.

The Mustangs finished with a 14-4-1 record and earned the top seed in the Class 1A, Section 6 playoffs, but fell to second-seeded Chaska 2-1 in the title game.

Breck looks to get back seven players from last year.
