St. Cloud Apollo enters the season off its first state title and faces a Blake team that it defeated 1-0 last season.

The Eagles return Leighton Lommel, who scored the game-winner in the Class 1A state championship. Lommel scored 10 goals last year, including the game-winner in the state semifinals against Mankato West.

Junior forward Ali Gelani, who had six goals last season, also is expected back.

The Eagles had a 21-0-2 record last year and will attempt to replace all-state midfielder Aidan Sim-Campos, who led the team with 19 goals.
