Blake closes out the first week of the season with a trip to the St. Cloud area for games against two of last year's top teams in Class 1A, Section 8.

The Bears take on section runner-up Sartell-St. Stephen on Friday and face section champion St. Cloud Apollo on Saturday.

Blake finished last year as the Class 1A, Section 3 runner-up to St. Paul Como Park, which reached the Class 1A state tournament for the third consecutive year.

The Bears posted a modest 12-8 record and are expected to return 13 players, including five sophomores, two juniors and six seniors.

Sartell-St. Stephen lost at home to Blake 1-0 last season, but went on to finish with a 12-6-2 record. The Sabres return 12 players from last year’s team, including Kempton Schneider, who finished with 12 goals and eight assists. Joining Schneider should be Cullen Chisholm, who scored 12 goals and had six assists, and goalie Colin Johnson.
