Shakopee at Lakeville South
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30

Fifth-ranked Lakeville South might be rated among the state's best in Class 3A, but the Cougars are in danger of falling out of South Suburban Conference's top spot if they lose their home match Tuesday to Shakopee. Lakeville South is in a three-way tie for second place behind unbeaten Prior Lake, No. 2-3A, and only one match up on Sabers in the conference race. The top five teams in the league are arguably as strong as any quintet in the state, including Eagan, No. 6-3A, and a solid Rosemount program. The Cougars have a great mix of upper- and lowerclassmen, with senior setter Jade Tingelhoff anchoring a team that has a rising superstar in sophomore outside hitter Jenny Mosser. Coach Matt Busch has Shakopee trending upward after rebuilding program as the Sabers have already won more matches than they did last season.
